Wet Basement Repairs
Wet basement repair is different for every home. In many cases the issue is caused by hydrostatic pressure, caused by excess water in the ground surrounding your foundation. When we have a heavy rainfall, or a rapid snow melt, this causes the water table to rise – thus causing water pressure (of eight pounds per gallon), which can force water underneath your footing and up into the basement.
Unfinished basements are the easiest places to find foundation cracks, as water leaves a mark – even after it has dried. Rest assured, our qualified team can find the issue within your finished basement as well – we will find the water inside the home, and then track the culprit to the crack outside. Once that crack has been remedied, we will then work on what caused the issue in the first place.
The most effective way to relieve that pressure is to give the water a different path – just like most things, water will take the path of least resistance. We will install a sump pump to discharge the water, and include a pressure relief system so your foundation wall crack will not occur again.
There are many other ways for water to enter your home, and the only way to ensure the problem does not happen again is to fix the original issue. Give us a call and our basement and foundation waterproofing advisor will provide you with a free quote.
