Don’t Get Caught in the Flood

The relentless rain pounding Canada’s East is considered to be some of the worst flooding in New Brunswick’s history. Families, homeowners, and businesses are displaced as homes and buildings succumb to high water levels. This intense flooding is an extreme example of the power of water and its damaging effects. As we keep informed of the flooding in New Brunswick, we are reminded of how we should remain diligent at looking after our properties in an effort to prevent water damage. Sump pumps are an excellent and often necessary investment for all property owners.

Sump pumps in Barrie, Midland, and Wasaga Beach are a pump that is used to remove water that has accumulated in a water-collecting basin, which are usually found in basements. Sump pumps in Barrie, Midland, and Wasaga Beach are used where basement flooding happens regularly and to solve dampness where the water table is above the foundation of a home. Sump pumps send water away from a house to any place where it is no longer a risk of flooding in the home.

There are generally two types of sump pumps in Barrie, Midland, and Wasaga Beach: pedestal and submersible. A pedestal pump is where the motor is mounted above the sump, as it can be more easily serviced, however it is more noticeable. The submersible pump is entirely mounted inside the sump, and is specially sealed to prevent electrical shorts.  Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer and they are less expensive and easier to remove. Submersible pumps have a shorter lifespan, and they are more expensive, but they deal with debris without clogging.
